Recovery Boots
These full length leg compression boots or arm compression sleeve, provide a compartmentalised pump action from your ankles to your upper thigh or your wrist to your upper arm, to help with muscle recovery, lymphatic drainage, reduced swelling and increased blood flow. These may be used for medical purposes or for sporting recovery or simply for tired legs from standing all day long.
How Do They Help Me?
Reduce Soreness: By providing pressure to the affected muscle like a massage, the Air Relax system can help alleviate tenderness, decrease restless leg syndrome & reduce delayed onset muscle soreness.
Improved blood flow: Which in turn will improve recovery time allowing the athlete to train at a higher intensity level more frequently and for a longer period. This has also proven to increase energy levels in general populations and help with medical conditions, such as diabetes and lymphedema.
Improved Flexibility: The moderate compressing from 3 different modes of the air relax unit relaxes muscles and connective tissue, allowing for increased range of motion. A secondary benefit of this would be a decrease in injury due to greater Range of Motion.
Immunity Boost: Compression has been proven effective in reducing the stress hormone cortisol which in turn helps boost the immune system.
More About Compression Equipment
Why do we get sore muscles?
The muscle pain and fatigue that you feel after exercise is due to muscle cell micro damage and inflammation, which leads to the accumulation of lactic acid, creatine and other metabolic waste products that the body cannot clear completely during exercise or normal cool down. The increasing accumulation of waste and water within the muscle after exercise causes a decrease in performance and an increase of muscle fatigue. These elements must be removed via the venous and lymphatic system to efficiently recover the muscle.
The human body naturally removes waste.
Our lymphatic system and blood vessels work together to flush waste from our cells naturally. Muscular movement, however, is needed to stimulate this process because the lymphatic system does not have a pump. Often athletes will perform light exercise to achieve this muscle contraction and increase circulation in the body, thereby reducing soreness in the muscles.
This is how compression recovery works.
Although the human body naturally excises waste that causes soreness and fatigue, this takes time. Our Recovery Boots deliver an aggressive, but very natural, alternative to passive recovery that far exceeds the results achieved from many traditional modes of recovery. Our system simulates localised “active recovery” in a passive manner because the therapy is conducted at rest.
